Also, you can "install" koreader without much fuss (no firmware downgrade or jailbrake nonsense like kindle) for an app that actually can handle PDFs. It has bigger screen, buttons (something that is very rare nowdays) and although I do hate the dumbed down/locked firmware that both have, kobo is slightly better. Personally, only based in my experience with libra h2O and kindle voyage (and my past experience from first gen paperwhite), I would have bought the kobo. I never bought from amazon/kobo stores, always sideload from calibre (that manages my collection) and I live in EU, so I cannot help you with the other questions. Not really bad, but not up to "standard". The battery lasts less time than a 6" as far as I could see. Around 5-7% its like first gen frontlight. The main issues are the battery life and the fact that libra has uneven light when dimmed down (below 15%) and it gets worse the lower you get. So not a huge device by any means and it's almost as easy to hold as a 6". It's only around 1,1/2 cm wider than my voyage and almost the same size in width, length. It combines portability with a quite a bit bigger screen than 6". I haven't touched a paperwhite since 2014, so no opinion on the latest model. Thanks everyone for your thoughtful answers! wasn’t in my original plans but SO worth the money. Also, is there any discrepancy between the prices of the book stores? Thanks in advance!Įdit: Ended up biting the bullet and went for the Kindle Oasis. Both seem to have their pros and cons from what I can tell, I’m just looking for that extra nudge towards one. I also live in the US and know my library has Overdrive. I am an Amazon Prime member so I’m not sure if that should sway me towards Kindle for any special offers or exclusives.

I like the idea of the larger screen and buttons on the Kobo, but I am also not opposed to the Kindle if it still feels comfortable to hold and read. I’m stuck between the Kobo Libra H20 and the Kindle Paperwhite. So all things you should be able to find across all book stores, I’m assuming. Think Throne of Glass to Behind Her Eyes to Fifty Shades. I’m not looking for anything that requires reading anything special like comics or manga - I really only read mainstream YA fantasy or adult romance/thriller.
